5. Spelling and grammar matter
Text speak and abbreviations are common and acceptable on twitter and other social platforms, but poor spelling and grammar will still get you shot down when trying to find a date online.
Like we mentioned before: first impressions count and spelling is part of that. When we surveyed some of our members a while back about the things that put them off about people contacting them spelling was in the top 5 of things that turned people off.
So, use your spellchecker before sending out a message; and guess what, it will check your grammar too. It is an easy dating mistake to avoid.
