10. Its a first date not a day out
First dates are awkward enough as it is without the added complications of being stuck with someone you may not like for the rest of the day. You don’t know if you are going to really like the person. You don’t know if they’ll be like they mentioned in their profile or if they will be a total bitch who you have nothing in common with.
So when you suggest going for a first date suggest something that only lasts for an hour or two … maximum.
Going for a coffee or a quick drink in your local bar or maybe a short walk in the park are all better suggestions than the 4 hour open top bus tour with no way of escape.
If things go well you can always decide to go somewhere else afterwards.
