“How you doin?”, “Hey”, “Hi”, “Sup” may have worked for Joey Tribbiani from 90’s NBC sitcom Friends, but believe us when we tell you they are not opening lines that work in online dating.
I know, making the first move can be a bit daunting, but don’t come off as a total douchebag or a loser by using a throw away line. Put a little but of effort in your opening line and show your love interest that you are actually making an effort.
Try to pick out something from their profile that stood out and ask them about it. It will show that you care, get their interest and will get the conversation starting.
